Adv. Nechama Ovadia
I was born 35 years after the founding of the State of Israel ,at a time when modern Israeli society was beginning to take shape and develop its particular values. As a child of immigrants, I was the first generation Israeli on both sides of the family and from an early age I understood the importance of human rights and the protection of individual interests. As a young woman, I started working in large law offices as a paralegal and of course my dream was to become a fully fledged lawyer. I therefore began studying law when I was 27 years old. Unfortunately my husband passed away a year later, leaving me a widow with two young daughters. However, this did not stop me from completing my studies and I obtained my lawyer’s degree and license at the age of 32.
I completed my first degree in law from Ono Academic College and a Master’s law degree from the College of Management Academic Studies (COLMAN). I began my legal career with experience in enforcement and bankruptcy law and represented the state in bankruptcy cases and municipalities in tax cases.
I then decided to cross the lines and represent the people. No matter whether civil or immigration, whichever case I handled, I always prioritized the interests and feelings of my clients, bringing my professional and personal experience to each case .This approach has enabled me to succeed and win many of my cases. I have hundreds of successful appeals to appellate tribunals, appearances in district courts and petitions submitted to the Supreme Court, to my credit. Now I am bringing all this professional knowledge to my private practice, continuing to help people and fight for justice to the best of my ability.

I was not born in Israel and came here when I was 21 years old. I know firsthand what Israeli bureaucracy is like, the reluctance of officials to be accommodating, and the inflexibility of the local system. It was then, in my very first year in Israel, that I decided to become an immigration lawyer and defend the rights of people like me – those who were not born here but have become part of Israeli society and therefore have the right to obtain status in this country. I earned my first and second law degrees abroad, and after successfully passing the exams in Israel and obtaining a lawyer’s license, I started working in an Israeli law office specializing in immigration issues – the law office of Alex Zernopolsky.
Later, I continued my practice and became a named partner in another major Israeli law office – “Decker, Pex and Сo”, where I gained extensive experience in corporate law, greatly aided by my first degree in international economics. I continued to hone my skills in immigration law, appealing decisions of administrative bodies, filing petitions in district courts, the Supreme Court, and defending the interests of my clients in court hearings. Every case becomes personal to me, whether it’s about Aliyah, family reunification, or establishing a company; every client is a person who needs my help, and every case is of special significance to me. I know that through private practice, I will be able to help more people who need it, bringing experience and a personal approach to each case.
